Dwarf caiman nocturnal sighting
One of the world’s smallest crocodiles is also a reptile that plays an important role in maintaining waterways and controlling species.
The dwarf caiman, also known as jacaré-anão, jacaré-paguá or jacaré-mirim (Paleosuchus palpebrosus) is nocturnal, which is why guests leave the pousada just after sunset in the direction of the Lagoa das Araras.
The sounds of the night and the immensity of the starry sky make the experience of seeing the glowing eyes of the caimans even more magical.
